Many television series options/stream quality that we can watch today. And the options are many. Once. But there's a reason why some series stand out from the rest, mainly because of how good their stories are.

The Bear
For the Foodie, don't miss the television series The Bear. The name itself refers to the name of a new restaurant started by the main character, Carmy (Jeremy Allen White). He takes over the restaurant hotdog his older brother (who died by suicide). And because of his background as chef starred restaurant, he intends to make it as a restaurant fine dining prestigious.
The Bear itself does not present heavy dialog, the characters tend to interact with simple everyday language that gives a natural feel to each scene, but atmospheric recreation behind-the-kitchen really intense ("behind!") and the truth that might make you appreciate the hard work of the kitchen staff even more.
Serial Upstream created by Christopher Storer has entered season 2 and entering the middle season You'll be surprised by the presence of some familiar faces as guest star, such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Will Poulter, and Olivia Colman.
To be sure, The Bear successfully blends the right mix of drama and comedy. And you'll be hungry for more.
Succession
In recent years, it seems that movie critics only watch Succession. Serial HBO has won various prestigious awards from the Golden Globe to the Emmy which named it the best drama series.
No wonder. Because Succession is indeed one of the best television series with characters memorable and heart-wrenching dialogs that are very quotable.
The main character himself, Logan Roy (Brian Cox), is said to have been inspired by media mogul Rupert Murdoch. At season First, he suffered a heart attack, which led to his three children, Kendall (Jeremy Renner), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Shiv (Sarah Snook), strategizing to take over the leadership of the company.
But Logan unexpectedly recovered from his illness, and he still wanted to hold on to power.
Theme Succession revolves a lot around power play, office politics, fraternal relationships, and, above all, the story of children constantly living under the shadow of their father. At its core, the main motor Succession is about the very family, very dysfunctional.
None of the characters are likeable or sympathetic, but an alliance of characters full of intrigue and plot twists twist (especially in season 4 that became the series finale) made Succession a highly addictive spectacle.
Beef
Again, a title that makes the wrong focus. Beef is not a documentary about the history of meat or about the restaurant business like The BearIt's about two individuals who hate each other. To summarize, they have beef with each other.
The story starts with an incident road rage between Danny (Steven Yeun) and Amy (Ali Wong). Danny is a contractor who is working his way back into his career so he can bring his parents from Korea to America; while Amy is a successful plant shop owner who is looking to sell her business.
These two figures from two different economic classes are both experiencing an existential crisis in their lives, and when "pitted"-all hell broke loose.
Fortunately, Beef is not as grim as the plot description above, especially since the feud between Danny and Amy is not stuck in a gender trap. Instead, the economic class conflict is emphasized, which escalates with each episode.
What's most mesmerizing about Lee Sung-Jin's Netflix series is that the actors are mostly of Asian descent. Steven Yeun of Korean descent, Ali Wong (who was previously better known as stand-up comedian) of Chinese-Vietnamese descent, while other actors are second-third generation Asian American Korean descent.
Which increasingly shows the promising direction of an increasingly inclusive Hollywood.
Abbott Elementary
Teachers are unsung heroes. But in fact, we rarely find stories about them on the big screen or television.
Then came Abbott Elementary. A comedy series about the ups and downs of public elementary school teachers in Philadelphia. How they often lack the funds to even buy stationery, about their frustrations trying to cope with troubled children, and how they are accused by parents of being incompetent teachers.
A sometimes tough topic, but don't worry, because Abbott Elementary not forgetting that they make comedy stories. Hence, there's Ava (Janelle James), the indifferent principal who likes to play TikTok; Jacob (Chris Perfetti), the teacher of the school. woke who often disebelin by the other teachers; Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph), the motherly senior teacher who often mispronounces celebrities' names, and the main character, Janine (Brunson) who is always positively cheerful and who is often teased about her shortness which makes her no different from the children she teaches.
Format mockumentary Abbott Elementary inspired by The Office and Parks & Recreation where the movements of the characters are followed by the camera and occasionally the characters will comment directly to the camera (or what is commonly called talking heads). What is certain is that the series created by Brunson feels like a breath of fresh air in the midst of various super serious series.
