Eko Priharseno Designs JAKKU, Aesthetic Door Handles

Habitus Concept, an Indonesian company that sells products door hardware from other countries, such as New Zealand and England. The company, which frequently collaborates with renowned architects and designers, this time invited Eko Priharseno to launch lever handle. Eko is founder from Aedi Design Bureau, an interior design bureau that was founded in 2004. This Indonesian interior designer, with 15 years of experience, received appreciation from Union Elmes. 

Union Elmes itself is a manufacturer from Japan, which was founded in 1958. The company focuses on door hardware handle This is, designing products based on aesthetic values.

Eko Priharseno started designing lever handle about 3 years ago at the time pandemic, because he felt many door handles on the market lacked aesthetic value and focused solely on function. So, he created JAKKU.

This product was launched first on February 22, 2023 in Osaka, Japan and was attended directly by the Director of Union Elmes, Junzo Tateno and people involved in the project, namely Ippei Tanaka, Shintaro Nakai, Hayato Omura.

Lever handle which is named JAKKU, inspired by Jack or jack (seesaw), because it has helped many people lift objects in their daily lives. JAKKU was originally designed to target Indonesians. However, because this product balances functional and aesthetic value, it has become a target market for both domestic and international customers.

Excellence JAKKU itself lies in its material. It is made of aluminum. casting and finishing using the process anodizing, the color is embedded in the material. This product already has 5 color combination variations, namely black, gold, umber, black umberand black gold with different designs, one of which uses a bamboo theme.

The JAKKU door handle product by Eko Priharseno, a collaboration between Habitus Concept and Union Elmes, is now available in Indonesia. It will be launched on August 15, 2024, in Jakarta, at Habitus Concept. Eko hopes that after creating JAKKU, AEDI will have more opportunities to work on international projects, both in Indonesia and abroad.
